Getting your test results

Samples taken at the surgery, or specimens dropped off by patients, are collected by the hospital at approximately 12 noon each day. If a sample is brought to the surgery after the collection time, it may not be processed and you may be asked to provide another sample.

If your result requires further investigation or treatment, a clinician or a member of the administration team will contact you with the next steps. Alternatively, you may contact the surgery after 2pm for an update.

Please note that different tests can take varying amounts of time for results to be returned to the practice, and this is unfortunately outside of our control.

We are only able to view results for tests requested by our practice team. If a hospital consultant or another service has requested your test, the results will be sent directly to them.

Our reception staff are not clinically trained to interpret test results. They can only provide the information recorded by the clinician, such as whether the result is normal, satisfactory, or requires further review.
