Dr Nagaraj trained in India and qualified in 1997.  He came to the UK in 2003 and trained as a General Practitioner.  He obtained his MRCGP in 2008.

He aslo trained in Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health.  Apart from his regular GP work he does minor surgery including joint injections.

Following his training as a GP he worked as a locum GP in various practices of North Wales.  He worked as a GP Partner in Blaenau Ffestiniog in 2009.  He joined Penrhyn Bay as a partner in 2013.

Our practice nurses perform a range of screening tests, such as, Cervical Smears, Spirometry, Doppler scans, they also review patients with chronic illness for example: Asthma, COPD and Diabetes, they also assess and treat cases of wound and leg ulcers.

Nurses administer vaccinations such as influenza, pneumococcal, shingles and child immunisations. The nurses can provide advice and immunisations for those travelling abroad. 

The nurses also carry out procedures such as, swabs and other ongoing injections such as B12. Some nurses also see patients for coil removal, repeat contraception.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, ECG's, dressings and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Our receptionists can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query.  They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions, dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, contacting patients, administrative work, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

There are several district nurses attached to the surgery. They provide nursing care to sick, elderly and post-operative housebound patients at home. Messages can be taken for the district nurses at both surgeries' reception.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
